UPDATE: According to the Canton Police Department, authorities in Idaho Springs, Colorado received a 911 call from a concerned citizen who had seen Mayci’s information on a “Missing Person” post and recognized the vehicle that Mayci was driving. Idaho Springs Police were then able to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle and positively identified Mayci Olschewske as the driver. Mayci is safe and the family has been notified. Thank you so much to everyone who helped share about her disappearance.
ORIGINAL ARTICLE: CANTON — The Canton Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating missing 16 year old Mayci Olschewske out of the Canton, Georgia area.
Mayci was last seen putting gas into her white 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe at Murphy’s gas station in Canton, just off Riverstone Parkway on Thursday, August 31 at 8:30 am. After that she went to an ATM and withdrew all of the money from her bank account. She was then spotted driving alone westbound on Highway 22 in Fulton, Mississippi going over Harden Chapel Road.
Mayci has ties to Oregon, and may also be heading to Yosemite National Park, located in California. Police state she may also be in the Denver, Colorado area.
Her vehicle has a Georgia “Support Wildlife” license plate with the number WPQ909, and had damage to the front passenger side, a rainbow-colored steering wheel cover, and two stickers on the back: one that says “Neck Deep” and another that says “Teach Peace.” In addition to the two on the back, there was also a yellow peace sign on the passenger side front windshield.
She was last seen wearing a grey hoodie, shorts, and white tennis shoes. When she left she took multiple items with her including her backpack, blankets, pillows, water, her journal, and her phone.
Mayci suffers from depression and may be in need of medical attention, and everyone is worried for her well-being as she hasn’t used her phone or credit cards since she left home.
Mayci is described as:
• GENDER: Female.
• ETHNICITY: Caucasian.
• HAIR: Blonde, long and often pulled back.
• EYES: Green.
• HEIGHT: 5 feet 5 inches.
• WEIGHT: 133 pounds.
